DIAMOND IN THE RUFF

Now that i got your attention...let us talk about cars!! What about cars? Well, I think its true to say that the evolution of cars has been a forefront of advancements in the world today. But I want you to think through the past and be critical about the matter at hand. Have we forged ahead or gone backward? The increased numbers of health risks in our society are alarming. In my own opinion, i attribute these health scares to cars. You didn't see that coming now...did you? Due to cars we are sort of pushed to laziness. Picture this, you are in Westlands Sarit Centre and you need to get to ABC Place and it is not an emergency. Just a casual window shopping spree. How many people would even consider walking? Most people would rather pay Ksh.20-30 to get there with all sorts of excuses. "The sun is scorching..." or "I do not have enough energy to walk" are some of them. An average Kenyan in 2015 uses 25%-40% of his/her income on transport and more often than not, an avoidable circumstance may have presented itself once or twice. It is amusing that most people can not find it in themselves to even jog to the local gym and back; they would rather drive. Who said a car is a treadmill?
Anyway on the other hand cars are efficient and lets face it most men in Kenya would rather obsess over their cars than a woman...more so...his own wife. We all know how much the Range Rover sports costs but did you know it costs twice as much or even more in its maintainence?? We have chosen cars to be our life long partners to the point we are developing smart cars to talk to. Siri has already become a propellant into the lack of human interaction...
Okay so this diamond in the ruff needs to be regulated... Lets take a break from all the technology specifically cars and burn a few calories...make a real human connection. Even arguing with a conductor for change counts as a human connection. That thrill is irreplaceable. Sounds crazy but it's true...we are the diamonds in the ruff. Technology has led us to believing otherwise. So lets stop the Car crushing and stick to the #WCW and #MCM. Be wise and value that humanity in you. Thanks for reading the blog...catch you next week...same day (Friday) most likely a different time. **kisses.
