THE ULTIMATE CONSTANTS

Well, I know this blog is mainly about the dynamic changes in life but it is good once in a while to take notes from the other extreme end; what I like to call The Ultimate Constants. I know the cliche element we have been brought to understand to be the constant in life is love. That is why we have so many talk shows, series and movies revolving around love, which, in some other people's interpretation is sex oriented hence the phrase "Sex sells". However, I think this view is  misleading and needs some deeper analysis.
That being mentioned, what do you consider to be the constant in life? Is it necessarily an emotion or could it be an element all in all? Think about it! No matter how far off you are pushed, what is that one thing in you that does not change?
This week's reflection led to the formation of a theory; yeah you heard right...a theory about those emotions that remain constant despite the social stratification we have been subjected to. This is just one opinion and hence you do not have to take it as the Bible truth. So emotion #1 is...**drum-rolls please...FEAR!
I know what you are thinking already and that is because you have been led to believe that fear is a bad thing but let me shake that belief a little bit...In my own opinion, fear is a good emotion cause it makes us cautious and even keeps some individuals grounded. If some people did not have fear they would be over their heads and beating their chests everyday. Think about it this way, you can be happy today but you fear that that happiness may not last as long as you may want it to. You can be sad, and fear that you may never be happy again an that the sadness is there to stay. You can be rich and fear that poverty awaits tomorrow and on the other hand you can be poor and fear you will remain in that state for eternity.
After all this is said and done, what is the way forward in order to live a stress-free life? This where emotion #2; HOPE comes in. Hope comes in like a blossoming flower. It's petals are fresh...the scent is enticing. Without hope you will keep on looking over your shoulder so always keep your head up and have the conviction that God always gives you a second chance called Tomorrow. So the theory is clear and simple: The ultimate constants in life are...FEAR and HOPE!! It's your choice on which one you will let prevail your life. I hope you enjoyed the read and feel free to post some comments!!!

DIAMOND IN THE RUFF

Now that i got your attention...let us talk about cars!! What about cars? Well, I think its true to say that the evolution of cars has been a forefront of advancements in the world today. But I want you to think through the past and be critical about the matter at hand. Have we forged ahead or gone backward? The increased numbers of health risks in our society are alarming. In my own opinion, i attribute these health scares to cars. You didn't see that coming now...did you? Due to cars we are sort of pushed to laziness. Picture this, you are in Westlands Sarit Centre and you need to get to ABC Place and it is not an emergency. Just a casual window shopping spree. How many people would even consider walking? Most people would rather pay Ksh.20-30 to get there with all sorts of excuses. "The sun is scorching..." or "I do not have enough energy to walk" are some of them. An average Kenyan in 2015 uses 25%-40% of his/her income on transport and more often than not, an avoidable circumstance may have presented itself once or twice. It is amusing that most people can not find it in themselves to even jog to the local gym and back; they would rather drive. Who said a car is a treadmill?
Anyway on the other hand cars are efficient and lets face it most men in Kenya would rather obsess over their cars than a woman...more so...his own wife. We all know how much the Range Rover sports costs but did you know it costs twice as much or even more in its maintainence?? We have chosen cars to be our life long partners to the point we are developing smart cars to talk to. Siri has already become a propellant into the lack of human interaction...
Okay so this diamond in the ruff needs to be regulated... Lets take a break from all the technology specifically cars and burn a few calories...make a real human connection. Even arguing with a conductor for change counts as a human connection. That thrill is irreplaceable. Sounds crazy but it's true...we are the diamonds in the ruff. Technology has led us to believing otherwise. So lets stop the Car crushing and stick to the #WCW and #MCM. Be wise and value that humanity in you. Thanks for reading the blog...catch you next week...same day (Friday) most likely a different time. **kisses.

ONE YEAR LATER...

Missed me? Well, i sure do hope you did because now more than ever i have endless stories that reflect the dynamic changes in life. I have been working on a few short stories here and there and also some scripts that i hope will kick off. One year is a long time, huh? But there is nothing more valuable than a good blogger. I wanted to better my skills and not turn this platform to my daily diary. It is too mainstream and honestly, ain't nobody got time for that. First things first, it is sad that we lost 147 souls a week ago and Kenya is still in mourning. May God rest those souls in eternal peace. This was a wake up call for me as a student in a Kenyan University in a very freaky and sad way. Lesson #1: Stop postponing matters that can be done now. Like this blog was far from my to-do list. I was always like "I will just wait till i graduate and have full training in Journalism so that i can be more relevant." I am living in the Now and whatever can be done, will be done. Lesson #2: Always be right with your God. Need I explain more? One man can change the world. Big Sean said it best in my #1 song this far in the year. Be inspired!
Hmmmm....so now that's all for now. Be ready for some catchier posts and i think i should refurbish a little....shake things up...don't you think?
