ANY NEED FOR CONTROVERSY?

I was chatting up with my friends yesterday and the main topic was the importance of controversy in any given situation. One of them argued that controversy draws an audience since most Kenyans are known to be quite curious with the on-goings in their surrounding. It is a default an impulsive action for most women but sadly this syndrome  has spread to our Kenyan men. This is just the observation by just three friends thinking through their lives on a Saturday evening so maybe just maybe there might be some people to state their own views but till then, i bet we have to stick to this conviction. Controversy has proven to be the centre of what most politicians and celebrities place themselves. Why? Because as the watchers we have ignored the saying that curiosity killed the cat. It is rather obvious that in that concept, Kenyans are ready to "die" just to  get the latest gossip and dirt even if it involves people who they have never crossed paths. It is like they feed off information more so, controversial issues being discussed by the 'know it alls' in the community. So is there need for controversy? Yes, since we cannot teach an old dog any new tricks. For women, they gather the latest controversial issues and gossip from the salon or from that woman who sells greens to the whole block and trust me, they never lack a story. As for men, they get it waaaay later from their wives if it is a local matter but if it  is something political or football related, the local bar is the place to be. We have to agree that controversy makes a story  juicier no matter what. and that is why i support controversy but it has its limits and that is the point where controversy has to have a thick line before formulating a totally big lie that can be found out really easily. Most men have proven to be the worst liars so leave the formulating of a controversy to a professional or  rather, to be clear, leave it to the women. They are much better at that job, don't you think?

MAKING THE "BEST" OUT OF THE "WORST"

Sadly in the world we live in today, we have to admit that not everybody can be the champion to come salvage the weak and weary. No, its a man eats world kind of thing going on... ever stop to question why there are countless street urchins crawling in the streets of Nairobi? i bet not... why? ignorance is bliss for most of us and if something does not involve you, you walk past it thinking someone else will salvage the situation. I know bloggers nowadays are known to reveal the latest gossip and dirt but most people  overlook the background story... making the best out of the worst has become a story for every successful person. Tell me one person who is on the limelight and doesn't have an aaaaw story or a pitiful tale to tell about their background. How they crawled from the gutters and made it to the top. This is all a cliche and sorry to say we all buy this sort of stories when we are fed. This is naivety that has proven to be growing at an alarming rate among Kenyans. I am not naming names but it is a food for thought... do we always make the best out of the worst as humans or is it just a common story written to be told to gain some pity and become a role model? The next story is being written and some are true and sad while others are false and sad since they have to go through all the trouble to cook a lie to be seen as who they are not. When will all this hypocrisy end? Live your life the way you see it is right but at the end of the day if judgement was to befall you today and the whole world was to watch your whole life from scratch... would you give a memorable speech laughing with the crowd afterwards or would you just hide in the crowd denying all the acts they see?
